This week I sorted pictures I had
taken on LAGBRAU and in the process relived the fabulous ride
through Utah. The scenery was spectacular, the rest stops were
great and I enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners. I especially
want to thank you for going out of your way to shuttle us to
scenic spots in the National Parks so we got to see everything
we wanted. Thanks for making this tour a truly memorable experience.
Given the beauty of the scenery and route, I stronly encourage
you to continue your efforts to turn LAGBRAU into one of the
premier MUST DO tours in the U.S. --- Louis I was one of the participants in the 2005 LAGBRAU and just wanted to let you know what I thought about the event.... Epic.... Loved it... What a Beautiful place. Thanks for organizing the 05 event. For me, it was the ride of a lifetime, so far. Best regards, David Whitmer Let me say that I couldn't have enjoyed the ride more. I have experienced about a dozen tours of this type, and LAGBRAU is the first ride that I'd consider repeating! --- Diana-from-Detroit I truly had a great time biking across Utah with the group, experiencing the state in this unique manner and I thoroughly enjoyed the new friends I made on the ride. The riding venue that you have in Utah is exceptional-a world class panorama of spectacular scenery. Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication in creating LAGBRAU. With best regards, --- Karl Martersteck I just finished the 2005 Lagbrau ride. It was wonderful! The scenery was the best in the west. There is so much to see and do along the way that it was impossible to take it all in. I did manage to shoot 140 photos along the way. --- Lew Haines-Las Vegas A fellow cyclist
described it was like "riding your bicycle through a picture
postcard". We have ridden numerous one week rides east of
the Mississippi, but this was our first in the west. This one
week ride was indeed the BEST of the BEST for both scenic and
challenging cycling days. Each cycling day was more unique and
amazing than the previous. Individuals from low elevation cycling
routes in FL to HI along with 22 other states, Canada, and Germany
met the 7 day challenge of miles and elevation climbs. Where
else but on a bike ride like this can you meet and greet other
great cyclists! In only its second year, the planning
and logistical challenges of staging such a ride across scenic
southern Utah are well done by ride director Les Titus. Where
else can you find a ride that you can experience "postcard"
views of National Monuments such as Natural Bridge, Grand Staircase-Escalante
and Cedar Breaks along with National Parks of Capital Reef, Bryce
and Zion, and Glen Canyon (Lake Powell) National Recreation Area
not to mention National Forests? Many scenic side trips options
are available for the energetic as well as the cycling bike path
through the most beautiful Red Canyon. Imagine cycling for most
of 5 days on simply 3 Scenic Byways, not seeing your first stop
sign until day 5 - out of Bryce Canyon - or seeing your first
stoplight of the week at the end of day 6 in Cedar City? Have
you ever bicycled for two days with NO houses, NO mailboxes,
or NO services? It is you and your bicycle friends, very little
traffic and nature with all its scenic abundance. This is when
you count on your ride support crews, and INDEED they did
supporting
the cyclists with fresh fruit, snacks, drinks and SAG when needed. If you are in search of an unforgettable cycling adventure, you should consider adding this tour to your cycling resume. We hope that this ride will continually prosper to assist Native American youth and their educational opportunities. Les Titus and others are committed to continual improvement of this most unique and scenic cycling ride. Yes, this can be done on a tandem! --- Steve and Carol Hopkins, Anywhere, USA |
